I feel like I blog/rant/journal too much on PAX(BECAUSE IT FLIPP'N AWESOME!) so I'm gonna take a break and write about an incredibly long talk I just had.
Basically I have made a really good friend over Xbox Live the past 5 years,I'm sure people on this site are not strangers to the concept of having online friends. Anywho, we haven't talked for over a week(A huge amount of time I know [/sarcasm]) so as a result we had a video chat on XBL that went from 10:30pm to 6:30am and let me tell you my throat hurts(No! Not from that! Get your mind out of the gutter!). It was very nice as I LOVE to talk and debate video games. And being that we met on XBL, we obviously both have a common appreciation for gaming.
*after typing this I noticed how it's kinda, well, boring for lack of a better word. So be warned! Massive Gamer talkage below*
The first main topic for debate was Bioshock. Talked a lot on the re-playability factor due to upgrade system. After this we compared Bioshock to Two World, an oblivion like RPG we have been excited about. I was basically saying Bioshock will be a better game, but he believes the overall play time of Two Worlds gives it an advantage. After this we went on a tangent on games that we felt were very good at immersing the player in the game's world(because of bioshock). This lead us to talk about Oblivion and KOTOR, as both have very effictive ways of engaging the player, and how not many Next-Gen games have succeeded in this task. Then somehow guitar hero 3 got mentioned and I went on a rant about how all the music I like, and only the music I like, should be in guitar hero 3. Because my music is better then your music =D. After this we started a massive debate on what splinter cell game had the better multiplayer: Pandora Tomorrow or Chaos Theory. This went on for quite some time and neither of us were successful in convincing the other of our own correctness.(BTW Chaos Theory FTW!) This discussion went on for around an hour and a half and I wouldn't dare try to type it all down but it did lead to some good 'ol reminiscing of Splinter Cell action online. Which then lead to a talk about how the entire XBL community has changed over the years. The conversation eventually ended with me talking about PAX because I have to damn it. It has brain washed me with excitement and glee.
And thus ends another night were Fromer gets no sleep due to video games and PAX. At least I did get to enjoy 2 bottles of Bawls and don't have to work tomorrow/today =D
