Addendum to Day Two: Greg has reminded me that we stopped at a Starbucks before heading to Times Square. The Baristas there were a trip and a half. They were telling us to clean up after ourselves and such. You'd almost have to meet them to get how fun it was to hang out there for a bit. I will have to remember to visit that one again when I get back to NYC!
Day Three, Saturday, October 13th: Conner and I only got about 2 1/2 hours of sleep before I got up to get ready. I let him sleep for the 45 mins or so I took to get ready. Then we headed back to the hotel to meet up with everyone. Conner and I had breakfast and then headed up to his room where Sam (Cherry) took off his shirt for me. lol He posed for a shirtless pic and they finished getting ready before we headed back down to the restaurant. After about 45 minutes of people eating and then gathering together outside we were finally ready to go and EIGHTEEN** of us set off into the city. Considering there were so many of us it was amazing that we managed to navigate the subways even transferred trains several times together! We started out in Times Square, stopping at a souvenier shop to get some stuff for friends and family (actually, we were walking and I went in the shop and people followed me lol). We went and saw the Naked Cowboy. Carla, Charise and Sam had their pictures taken with him, and Charise licked his nipple! Yeah, pretty gross. She didn't mean to do it but it makes for a great story! hehe Then we started heading towards Central Park. It was like 15 blocks to get there and I think some people were ready to commit mutiny on the ones in front (poor Jen). We made a stop off at a street vendor and then finally arrived at the park. It really is a beautiful spot right in the middle of the city. We found a large rock for a nice group photo op. Some of the guys went and played on the playground swings, jumping off like kids. Then we strolled through the park a bit seeing the sights and another photo op for the "MySpace" shot where a bunch of guys stood there taking pictures of themselves at weird angles while we shot pics of them doing it. lol Finally we headed out of the park, past Trump towers and back on the subway to go to the screening. We arrived at Tribeca cinemas around 5 or a bit before. We met up with some others that had arrived before us and everyone just kinda hung out for a bit before we started signing a special shirt that Conner had procured at the souvenier shop for the lovely animator, Erica. Some of us also headed up into the overpass where one of the DBP shoots occured for more photo ops including a "Marissa pose" by the girls and Greg reenacting the killing of the thug in the overpass. It was a good time as people arrived for the screening (particually the excitement over Jes and Erica arriving looking like the stars they are) and we all started lining up to wait to get in. We got some great pics of the marquee and posters out front as well. As actors and actresses arrived there was a great buzz and meeting them was awesome. For me it was a particular joy to finally meet Guy who is like the sweetest person ever. We were all impressed with the turnout and abuzz with excitement over how good we all knew the night was going to be. The doors opened and we filed into the theatre. Being near the front of the Conner, Greg and I got some primo seats and ended up having Marissa and her crew sitting right behind us which was pretty cool.
The Movie: Ok, this deserves a special place. It was unbelievable. It honestly blew me away. I had seen all the episodes and they are great but to see it in movie form, through Jes's true vision... well, words can't really describe it. The people who made this movie are some of the most talented, visionary people I've ever seen work from and definatly had the pleasure of meeting. When this movie is done, you will all be awestruck with the level of work before you. I am even more hyped to see the rest of this movie and particularly to see this movie in its true, full form. Let me just say that from the previews of what is to come you should be extremely excited! I know I am and so was everyone else in that theatre.
After the movie, Jes, Erica, Marissa and Guy did a Q & A session. Jes pointed out all of the people who helped to make the movie (and the screening) possible. It was cool hearing them talk about the making of the movie. After some good Q & A, Jes sent everyone out for the afterparty held in a room at the theatre. The food was great, the company there was even better and the drinks were yummy. I got a bit tipsy (only 2 Long Islands but they were strong and I was going off of very little sleep and lots of activity) and I had a wonderful time. I may have kissed a few people, all of which I enjoyed. I was the first girl to kiss Kenny and got met with several cries of "YOU KISSED KENNY!" hehe I can't even describe the amount of fun that I had that night. As the night wound down (around midnight) everyone that was left at the party headed out together to the subway. Yep, about 40 of us navigated the subway together. Ok, I mostly just leaned on Greg or whoever else was near and people lead me around. Jes insisted that they take me back to the hotel and let me sleep in someone's room there instead of going back to my apartment. We arrived finally at our stop and there were lots of goodbyes and see you tomorrows. Most of us that got off for the hotel ended up stopping at an all-night diner for a late-night bite. We got back to the hotel around 4ish and I stayed with Jen, Kenny and Carla. I fell asleep around 5:30am.
Day Four, Sunday, Oct 14th: I woke up around 8 and headed back to my apartment to get ready for the day. I headed out to Guy's place around 11 and got there a bit after 12. I arrived at the same time as Little Mike (GamerX5000). I got in and got to work helping Guy get things ready for everyone. I cut up some tomatoes, made some spinach dip and did other random things that he asked of me (oh come on, get your minds out of the gutter!) hehe People started arriving and Guy got to cooking. It was a great day of just hanging out with friends (and no walking! YAY!) and the food was yummy too! I got to talk with a lot of people including Mike Kritsky, Victor and Guy. Mike is a total trip and a great conversationalist with lots of stories to tell. Vic helped shield me from the sun. hehe The day was really awesome and a great way to relax after all the events of the previous days. It was fun watching people play Guitar Hero in the house too. Little Mike is awesome on that game and there are pics and vids of him playing with the guitar behind his head and with his back to the screen. He also had one of the best comments of the trip not long after we had arrived at Guy's place. He said, "I spent most of the day Friday hanging out with Aaron (Enforcer)... My ass will never be the same." lol That still makes me giggle. It was just so perfect and deadpan. I ended up having to leave the party a bit early to meet up with an old friend from Redvsblue, Daron (TheWholeFnShow). His train was late getting in but we were able to spend about 2 1/2 hours talking and catching up. It was great finally meeting a friend that I have known for around 4 years. Afterwards I headed back to the hotel to meet up with people. Jesse ended up being the first person there and he and I talked for about an hour before others arrived. I love talking to Jes, he's such an intelligent and fun guy. People trickled in over the next hour or so after that and we all spent some time laughing and talking. We said our goodbyes outside, quite sadly as I knew I was going to miss everyone and I headed back to my apartment around 3am, this time taking a cab. It was a great end to a great weekend, though there were still two more days in NYC left for me.
