NYC Days 1 & 2

I've hesitated making this blog because a) I've been busy with work and moving, and b) everyone else has had such great entries I'm not sure I can add much. I'll try to make this a good post but in order to protect the ~~not so~~ innocent I can't put EVERYTHING that happened. lol Anyways, here goes:

Day One, Thursday, Oct. 11th: I didn't sleep Wednesday night because I had procrastinated and not packed. Even after finishing packing I didn't sleep because there didn't seem to be much point in going to sleep at almost 2 to wake up at 3:30 and I sure as hell didn't want to risk missing the plane. So, at 4am we got to the airport. At 6am we took off from Nashville International and I had my first anxiety attack. After the initial shock of takeoff I was pretty ok and was able to somewhat enjoy the short flight to Atlanta. After arriving there we hurried to our next gate for our flight to La Guardia. That flight gave me another anxiety attack and made me sick as we hit turbulance just outside of NYC. Finally we arrived, hopped a cab and got to the apartment I was renting. My host was a wonderfully sweet French lady named Isabelle (and if I get to go to NYC again I will most likely stay with her again). She showed us around and then got me an umbrella to head out into the city with as the day was pretty rainy and dreary. I had made several calls to Erica and then to Aaron (Enforcer) and headed out to meet him when Erica called me back we changed plans to meet up with Aaron, Erica and her group which included Paul (Logan), Fiona (Lillie), and Jason (LLCoolBean) near Broadway and 5th Ave. We walked around the city, visited the Puma store where Erica busted out a killer graphic in chalk on the wall and we pimped out DbP to the employees, and Times Square, where we visited ToysRUs. After TRU Erica, Paul and Lillie headed back to Erica's, Aaron headed back for his dorms and Jason, Russ and I headed for the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner and souviniers. We called it an early night after that as I was dragging hardcore.

Day Two, Friday Oct. 12th: I slept in before getting up and getting ready for the day. I called Carla as we were ready to leave the apartment and found that a group was at the hotel and getting ready to head down for food so we headed that way to hang out. We met up with Carla (Charlie), Jen (Camael), Kenny (Tubathingy), Jason (Bean), and Conner (DarkBowler) in the hotel's restaurant. We were later joined by some other folks including Greg (gjhoward) and... ummm it gets fuzzy at that point. Sorry to the others that joined us that morning! I headed out for the day with the above mentioned people and we decided to hit Ellis Island. That place is amazing and I have many pictures from it (pictures to be made available later tonite). There was a bit of a... ummm... snafu I guess you'd call it in security trying to get onto the Ferry. Our beautiful Carla ended up having to strip to prove she wasn't a terrorist. lol I'll let you ask her about the full story. The ride on the boat out was FUCKING COLD (shut it, Conner, it was fucking cold) but the views of the city were gorgeous. We got some great shots around Battery Park to and from the Ferry as well. Afterwards we headed for Times Square and the ToysRUs store (again for some of us), which is where that awesome picture that is on my profile was taken. After that we headed out towards Forest Hills to meet up with everyone for dinner at a nice Chinese place. We arrived first and people came in from there. I met sooo many people that night, too many to name but it was awesome spending time with everyone and chatting over a yummy dinner. From there some people headed back to Manhattan, others went out to a bar and Greg, Erica and I hung back at Jesse's place with the underage crowd to watch a movie. I actually really enjoyed just sitting and enjoying the movie and the company rather than hanging out in a loud bar. The night didn't end there though. A bunch of us headed back to the hotel to hang out in room 627. I think it was Brian (Koby), Chris (Spammy), Caitlin, and Josh (notthefbi)'s room. Good times were had by all (yes, Aaron, you really did attack me and bite my neck lol). I think I'll leave it at that. Around 4am I was ready to head back to my apartment and Conner was sweet enough to escort me there. We got there around 5am and eventually fell asleep on the couch/day bed in the den.
