Drawn by Pain Screening Part Deux

I'm sorry that this a duplicate of a previous discussion made a few months back, but unfortunately some complications came up and the discussion had to be remade again.

In this discussion we are talking about possible dates for the screening, hotel choices, travel arrangements for those who need help and activities to do while in New York. This screening is to not only celebrate the completion of the Drawn by Pain series with friends who share the same enthusiasm, but to also show support for Jes, Erica and the entire crew for their hard work over the last few years to produce a piece of work that has earned them the Peoples' Choice Webby Award.

In the previous discussion, we had spoke of September being the possible month for the screening and now that Jes has determined it will be in late September, as of now, we will need to start getting more people involved to make this event even better than the last.

For those who are planning to attend, please state if you are going so we can get a proper head count, this also includes all those who had stated they were going in the previous discussion. All information was lost and we will need to have everyone who participated in the original discussion to repost.

Sorry for the inconvienence this has caused and please be patient as we try to get things planned and organized for the second part of Drawn by Pain in New York.

This site includes the smaller airports people may be flying out of if they don't have the money to travel out to the larger, more well known locations (like myself.....can't afford to drive 4-6 hrs to the closest major airport like San Francisco or Los Angeles).

Mikey, I have you down as a definite yes & Cass, I will be changing your status to a definite yes as well.

I will be on the RvB site "trolling" Jes' journal(s) there to get names of people who will also be attending since many have not confirmed here in the discussion topic, which is very much preferrable due to email notices of comments left here.

Carla, thank you for posting that site. Once I can get the hotel options up we will go ahead and find out what people would like to do during that weekend, as far as tourist attractions go. I will definitely use that site as a reference.

Anyone who is wanting to see a Broadway Production, please keep in mind that you will need to purchase tickets early. I know I won't be able to afford seeing any performances this time around, but for those who can - start looking now before tickets are gone =)

Permalink Reply by Camael on July 30, 2008 at 2:33pm: Yeah, I am working on getting those hotel options up either by this weekend or the next. Once I have those options up, we will narrow down which would be best with price, location, and shuttle services.

I say book the flight once the hotel is choosen, but I will try my hardest to get a list up by this weekend so we can get the hotel discussion out of the way asap for people to book their flights.

As people know more, I will make the necessary changes to the list and keep people updated on who is going and what their status is on if they are going.

I do, again, stress that if anyone knows someone who is going or will be trying to attend that has not been listed yet, please say so here so I can get them added to the list. Permalink Reply by Camael on August 4, 2008 at 9:38pm: I'm still looking into hotel/motel options and found a few good deals, but if people want to also suggesting places, that would be good since we would have a better list to choose from besides the one I will be posting here in the very near future.

For those still thinking about the PanAmerican, it is on the list we can choose from. I would first like to see if we can find a different location, though, that is just as affordable or cheaper in a nice area.

So if anyone has any ideas or suggestions on hotels/motels, please post them so we can start getting input from people on where they would like to stay. The faster we figure this out, the quicker we can start booking flights and all that fun stuff.; ▶ Reply to This
